This series was conceived based on personal records of the urban intervention “Labirinto,” composed of tons of recyclable materials collected from cooperatives.
The painting process involves thick layers of paint that represent the materiality of the compacted objects that made up the bales. The final painting reveals a visual result that confuses the viewer’s gaze, as it straddles the line between the figurative and the abstract.
